Most luxury houses change their colours every season. Goyard works differently. Its chevron canvas, Goyardine, comes in a core set of shades that hardly change, plus a few seasonal and limited colours that appear and then vanish. Knowing which Goyard colours are which helps you choose a bag you will wear for years, and tells you why two identical totes can carry very different prices.
The Goyard colour chart

Every Goyardine colour is a painted canvas: a base colour with the chevron dotted over it by hand, finished with natural or tonal leather trim. As a result, the colour never looks flat. Light catches the pattern, so each shade reads slightly differently in the shop, in daylight and at night.
The classic Goyard colours
These are the shades Goyard keeps in its permanent line. They are the easiest to wear and the most liquid on the secondary market.
- Black. Black chevron on a black base, with black trim. The quietest Goyard there is. See the Saint Louis PM in black, $2,135.
- Black and brown. The original Goyard look: black and tan chevron with brown leather trim. Ours is the Saint Louis PM in black and brown, $2,275.
- Grey, navy, green, burgundy and red. Darker colours that work as neutrals, such as the navy and burgundy Saint Louis PM, both $2,275.
- Brights. Yellow, orange, sky blue and white bring the summer shades. They show marks on the trim sooner, so keep the handles clean. For example, the yellow Saint Louis PM is $2,345.
Seasonal and limited Goyard colours

Alongside the core line, Goyard releases colours in short runs. Iris, Polar Blue, Powder Pink, Meadow Green and Fuchsia are recent examples. Blueberry Purple is a limited edition, and the pearly finishes add a soft sheen to the canvas, as on the Pearly Blue Saint Louis PM. Because these colours are made in small numbers, they cost more. In our stock the same Saint Louis PM runs from $2,135 in black to $3,675 in Iris or Powder Pink. For one limited colour in depth, read our purple Goyard bag guide.
How to choose a Goyard colour
If this is your first Goyard, start with black or black and brown. They go with everything, and they hold their value best. On the other hand, if you already own a dark tote, a seasonal colour is the more interesting second bag, because it may not come back.
Think about the trim too. Pale colours such as white and sky blue come with pale leather, which darkens with hand oils over time. That patina is permanent. In contrast, darker trims hide it. Our Goyard Saint Louis buyer’s guide covers how Goyardine wears in more detail.
Finally, every Goyard colour can be personalised. Goyard boutiques paint initials and stripes onto the canvas, a service called marquage. See the Maison Goyard website for details.
Goyard colours beyond the Saint Louis
The same colours run across the line. For instance, khaki appears on the Belvedere PM and the Cap Vert PM, and black on the reversible Anjou Mini. The Bohème hobo comes in black, navy, white, yellow and powder pink, such as the Bohème in navy.

Common questions
What is the most popular Goyard colour?
Black and brown, the original chevron. Plain black comes a close second.
Do seasonal Goyard colours come back?
Some return in later seasons, but limited editions such as Blueberry Purple are not planned to. That is why they cost more.
Which Goyard colour shows dirt the least?
Black, navy and burgundy. Pale colours like white and sky blue show marks on the leather trim first.
