Maison Goyard has been trading since 1853 and has spent most of that time deliberately out of view. There is no advertising, no seasonal campaign, and until recently barely a website. The house is known instead by its canvas — the Goyardine chevron, still applied by hand, still built on a coated canvas rather than leather.

That material choice is the practical argument for Goyard. Goyardine is light, genuinely water-resistant and far more tolerant of daily use than a calfskin of comparable price. A Saint Louis tote weighs almost nothing empty, folds flat, and shrugs off weather that would mark a leather bag permanently. It is the least precious of the great houses' materials and, for a bag that is actually carried, often the most sensible.

The shapes divide cleanly. The Saint Louis is the unstructured tote, sold with its matching pouch, made in PM and GM. The Artois is the same silhouette given structure and an interior pocket. The Anjou is reversible, canvas on one face and leather on the other. The Bohème is the hobo. The Rouette, Alpin and Vendôme cover the structured end. Sizes run Nano, Mini, PM, MM and GM rather than by centimetre.

Colour is where Goyard becomes collectable. The canvas is produced in a fixed palette — black, tan, navy, red, green, orange, yellow, white, burgundy, sky blue and the rarer Special Colours — and availability at retail is unpredictable by design. Iridescent and limited-run finishes appear irregularly and do not return.

Condition on Goyardine reads differently from leather. Look at the corners and the leather trim rather than the canvas itself, since the trim and handles patinate while the canvas stays largely as it was. Each listing here describes both separately, along with the interior, hardware and any personalisation.

The classic shades are black, black and brown, and grey. Beyond those we stock navy, sky blue, polar blue, pearly blue, ocean blue, khaki, green, meadow green, burgundy, red, orange, yellow, white, fuchsia, powder pink, iris, blueberry purple, coral and sand.

Which Goyard bags come in khaki green?

The Belvedere PM, Boston 50, Cap Vert PM and Cisalpin are currently in stock in khaki Goyardine.

Is there a black mini Goyard bag?

Yes. The Anjou Mini comes in black and in black and brown, and the Saigon Souple Mini in black and brown. Every Anjou Mini is reversible, with Goyardine on one side and smooth leather on the other. For colour, see our purple Goyard guide.

How much is the Goyard hobo bag?

The Bohème is Goyard's hobo. In our current stock it runs from $2,275 for the Bohème Mini to $4,025 for the Bohème PM, in black, navy, white, yellow, red, orange, burgundy, powder pink and meadow green.

Saint Louis PM or GM?

The PM (13.4 × 11 × 5.9 in) suits daily carry; the GM (15.7 × 13 × 7.8 in) is the travel and beach size, with room for a laptop. Because the canvas is unstructured, the smaller size usually looks neater. See the Saint Louis buyer's guide.
