The Hermès HSS Birkin 40 Craie Brushed Palladium is for sale as a single unit. Special Order Birkins are placed through a boutique rather than bought off the shelf. Bi-colour, tri-colour and Verso commissions like this one exist in combinations Hermès never produces for general stock.
40 is a travel format. Togo is a pebbled calfskin with a fine raised grain. It shrugs off light scratching far better than a smooth leather and softens slowly at the corners. Brushed palladium carries a matte satin finish rather than a mirror polish, offered only on special order commissions.
It is finished with tonal stitching. The interior is lined in Gris Perle chevre leather. Special Order, or HSS, pieces are placed through a boutique rather than bought off the shelf. They carry a horseshoe stamp above the Hermès blind stamp, and they exist in colour and leather combinations that never reach general stock.
