The rippled grain and faint natural sheen are unmistakable, it weighs very little, and it resists scratching better than any calfskin. Brushed gold carries a matte satin finish rather than a mirror polish, offered only on special order commissions.
It is finished with contrast stitching. The interior is lined in Rose Lipstick chevre leather. Special Order, or HSS, pieces are placed through a boutique rather than bought off the shelf. They carry a horseshoe stamp above the Hermès blind stamp, and they exist in colour and leather combinations that never reach general stock.
