The Pre-Owned Hermès HAC Birkin 50 Caramel Togo Palladium is for sale as a one-off piece. The 50 is a Haut à Courroies format, built originally for riding kit rather than as a handbag.

Togo is a pebbled calfskin with a fine raised grain. It shrugs off light scratching far better than a smooth leather and holds the Birkin’s shape while the corners soften slowly with use. Palladium is a bright, cool silver that will not tarnish.

The Haut à Courroies is the Birkin’s taller predecessor, originally made to carry riding equipment. The bag carries a front flap, two straps closing over a centre toggle, a clochette holding the lock and keys, and double rolled handles.

Condition is stated as Pre-owned, graded Excellent. The blind stamp dates production to 2016. Seller’s condition notes, unedited: This bag is relaxed in its shape structure. There is no plastic on the hardware, resulting in moderate scratching to the hardware and some minor plating loss to a few of the feet. The lock has some tarnishing. The exterior leather has some scuffing around the bottom corners and a small scuff to the front. The interior leather has press marks to the base and back wall. There is a small scuff to the top of the right wall.
