Pre-Owned Hermès Birkin 30 Black Ostrich Palladium, available to buy now. The 30 is the size most people settle on: large enough for a laptop sleeve, a folder and the day’s contents, small enough to still read as a handbag rather than a tote.

Ostrich is quill-marked skin, with the follicle pattern densest across the front panel. It is light, rare, and does not tolerate water. Palladium is a bright, cool silver that will not tarnish.

Retourne construction, stitched inside out and then turned, gives rounded corners and a slightly relaxed stance. The bag carries a front flap, two straps closing over a centre toggle, a clochette holding the lock and keys, and double rolled handles.

Condition is stated as Pre-owned, graded Excellent. The blind stamp dates production to 2009. Seller’s condition notes, unedited: This bag has a slightly relaxed shape structure. There is no plastic on any of the hardware, resulting in hairline scratches and tarnishing to the rivets. The exterior leather has scratches to the ostrich skin and a scuff on one of the corners. The interior leather has faint press marks to the base.
