Description
The Patek Philippe Nautilus 40mm Steel is for sale as a one-off piece. Gerald Genta designed the Nautilus in 1976 around a porthole silhouette. Patek discontinued the steel 5711 in 2021, which is most of why the line trades where it does.
The case measures 40mm in steel, on a steel strap. The movement is automatic, wound by the motion of the wrist.
A power reserve indicator shows how much winding remains. A moon phase display tracks the lunar cycle. A date display is set into the dial. Patek Philippe Reference 5712/1A-001 The Reference 5712/1A-001 debuted in 2006 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic Patek Philippe Nautilus. The eye-catching asymmetrical dial featured a fan-shaped power reserve indicator, moon phase display and off-center subsidiary seconds subdial. Until the release of the Reference 5740 in 2018, a perpetual calendar model with moon phases, the 5712 stood as the most complicated Nautilus wristwatch. Constructed in stainless steel with sapphire crystal display back, showcasing the cal.240/164 movement.
