Hermès Herbag Zip Mini Black Toile Militaire Palladium, available to buy now. The 20, sold as the Herbag Mini, is the smallest of the three and the one that is hardest to find at boutique.
Toile Militaire is a denser, flatter military-weight canvas than Toile H, with no woven motif, which makes the colour read solid rather than patterned. The frame, handle and strap are Fauve Vache Hunter, a vegetable-tanned leather that darkens and patinas with handling rather than staying uniform. Palladium is a bright, cool silver that will not tarnish.
It carries the clou de selle closure, a back zip pocket, an interior zip pocket, a shoulder strap, tonal stitching and a front flap. The interior is lined in Black Toile Militaire canvas. The Herbag descends from the 1970s Haut a Courroies in canvas. It is the entry point into the house’s bag line, it is built from a removable body on a leather frame, and Hermes rotates its colourways out every season rather than carrying them forward.
