Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 36mm Stainless Steel 1998, available to buy now. Gerald Genta drew the Royal Oak in a single night in 1971, and the octagonal bezel with its eight exposed screws and the integrated bracelet made it the first luxury steel sports watch. It remains the piece the house is defined by.
The case measures 36mm in stainless steel. The movement is automatic, wound by the motion of the wrist. Calibre cal. 2229/2845 automatic, jewelled.
A power reserve indicator shows how much winding remains. A date display is set into the dial. Production dates to circa 1998. Audemars Piguet has been independently and family-owned since 1875, has never been sold, and produces roughly 50,000 watches a year across the entire catalogue.
